Fat is stored in its hump, due to which it can survive for a long time without water. Due to all of such adaptations, camel becomes most suitable to walk in the desert. Thus it is used as a means of transport and is called `ship of the desert`.
(b) Explain the various properties of water.
Answer: Water has following properties:
Fluidity: Water has the property of fluidity, due to which it can flow. Water is therefore used for transport and for generation of electricity.
Coolant: It can cool the heated equipments/ parts of machines.
Universal solvent: Almost all things dissolve in water and hence it is called universal solvent.
Cleaning abilities: Water can clean almost everything and hence it is used inn our daily routine.
(c) What are the various uses of soil?
Answer: Uses of soil are as bellow:
Soil helps plants to grow. Soil has water holding capacity. therefore water is available for us , through out the year. plasticity is the property due to which soil can be given any required shape. therefore, various articles are made from soil. they are baked and made hard for longer use. e.g., pots, lamps, idols, bricks, etc.
(d) Explain the various steps of nutrition in animals.
Answer: The five steps which occur in the process of nutrition in animals are Ingestion, Digestion, Absorption, Assimilation, Egestion.
